    We found a bunch of old boxes in the basement containing mint vinyls of some of our old school releases. Yes, when we started our label in 2005, vinyl was still largely king and we pressed up all our first releases (in fact, until catalogue number Man 034) on vinyl.
    Some of it is completely sold out, but luckily we found a couple of releases in these boxes which we´re now selling gradually week by week through our Bandcamp shop.

    Man 06, Edu K´s "Sex-O-Matic" ft. Deize Trigona, was a huge club hit when released. It was played by everyone from Diplo to Ivan Smagghe because of the fidget house remix by Solid Groove aka Switch aka Dave Taylor, the main producer behind M.I.A.´s "Kala" album, the debut album of Santigold and the first Major Lazer album. In 2024, his pioneering remix is still a secret club weapon that didn´t lose its edginess. T

    The "Sex-O-Matic" vinyl also includes two baile funk remixes by DJ Edgar and Sany Pitbull as well as a reggaeton remix by Edu K himself. Yes, already in 2006, we blended reggaeton with baile funk! Extra bonus is the acappella.

Okay, we know that much of the Brazilian Baile Funk lyricism is mostly about getting laid. Yes, Rio de Janeiro´s 21st century beat music is nothing but a s-thing. Consequently our chief erotoman EDU K named his new track „Sex-O-Matic“. It features the mighty Deize Tigrona on the mic, one of Rio de Janeiro´s top female Mcs, notorious for her ability to both sing the subtlest jazz tunes as well as the most lust dripping slack lyrics. As a resident of the infamous Rio community, the „City Of God“, Deize Tigronas MC skills were forged in the fires of hundreds of funk balls all across Rio over the years. In her first time collab with EDU she delivers full steam: „You know what I only want? Sex!“ she shouts in Portugese.

„Sex-O-Matic“ is the second release by EDU K on Man Recordings and another track from his upcoming album „Frenétiko“ (out March 22nd). Edu has made the scene in Brasil since the early 90s in punk, metal and funk. When his seminal baile funk track „Popozuda Rock n´Roll“ was released in Europe, it soon became a underground hit. Since singing with Man Recordings, he has been remixed by Diplo and DJ Sandrinho and has been dropped by the Rio godfather DJ Marlboro. It´s quiet likely that with the remixes by London´s Solid Groove, as well as EDU´s own reggaeton mix, the word about the „K“ will spread much further.

Solid Groove from London, a.k.a. SWITCH, a.k.a. Dave Taylor, currently one of the hottest remix outfits in the world of electronic music, delivered a storming minmalist rave monster in their trademark „fidgit“ style. Yeah, it´s „fresh!“ as the sample goes: A simple bassdrum, Deize´s chopped-up voice and a gnarly synth hook will guarantee hands up in the air on dancefloors around the globe.

EDU K´s Reggaeton Remix mounts the energetic funk vibe on a reggaeton inspired skank-track. For those about to shake your booty!

DJ Mavi + DJ Sany, two of Rio de Janeiro´s most wanted DJs and producers, provide a guitar swirling, block rocking funk carioca mix.

DJ Edgar, the main DJ and producer behind baile funk MC star Mr.Catra provides another funk carioca mix, which focusses less on guitars but more on beats. Nevertheless, it calls for booty time.

A storming, butt shaking original, four burning remixes – „Sex-O-Matic“ will cause some serious bump n´grind bass pogo dancing!
